Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States was founded in 1859 and rebranded as Equitable in 2020 after demerging from AXA. The carrier issues annuities under the Equitable Financial and Equitable America subsidiaries. Equitable is one of the longest-operating life insurers in the United States.
